French Toast Casserole

French Toast Casserole:

1 loaf French bread cut into 1-inch cubes (10 cups)
8 eggs
3 cups milk
4 tsp sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
3/4 tsp salt, optional
1 tsp cinnamon

Place bread cubes in a 9×13 baking dish. In a large bowl, whisk the eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla, salt and cinnamon. Pour over bread. Cover and refrigerate for 8 hours (or overnight).

Remove from refrigerator 30 minutes before baking. Dot with pats of butter and sprinkle the top with a sugar/cinnamon mixture.

Cover with aluminum foil and bake at 350 degrees for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick/knife inserted in middle comes out clean.

Serve with maple syrup.
