Garlic Cheese Twists
2 cups flour
1 Tbsp sugar
1 tsp salt
1 Tbsp instant yeast
Stir together and add:
1 cup water
1 Tbsp oil
1 egg
Stir together. Add enough flour to make a smooth dough and knead for 8 minutes. Cover and let rest for 10 minutes.
Roll out dough into a rectangle, about 1/4 inch thick (as for cinnamon rolls). Then spread with:
1/4 cup butter
1/4 tsp parsley
1/4 tsp dill weed
1/4 tsp garlic salt
Sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese. Fold the dough in thirds (top down, bottom up). Cut into 1 inch strips. Twist each strip a few times, then tie in a knot. Place on a greased pan. Let rise for 30 minutes. Bake @ 375 F for 15-20 minutes. Serve fresh and warm!
Makes approximately 12-15 twists.
